What began as a solution to producing hand-knitted garments offshore is now a sisterhood of artisans and a business with the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development entwined in our DNA. We have scaled the art of hand knitting to produce commercial quantities of garments, all entirely hand knitted.
There is no machine intervention in our process, no waste and no carbon footprint. We began with 10 women, sitting on the floor of a home in a rural village. Danielle didn’t speak Tamil, and the women didn’t speak English, but they were determined to make the business work. There were so many benefits.

• The education and employment for women starts a new economic cycle in every village we set up our hand-knitting hubs.• The makers have full-time employment and financial independence for themselves and their families. The flow-on benefits to the community are limitless.
Bringing these women together has created a wonderful sisterhood. This connection is an integral part of the KOCO story which is touching the hearts of brands and consumers around the world.
We are building a strong business run by women and a business of strong women that is hand knitting the world together.
